Will Lucky Get Another Shot at Liz?

Ever since Jason decided to take over Sonny's criminal empire, he's had to keep his distance from true love Elizabeth.  Does this mean a reunion could be in the works for Lucky and Liz?  And how would Sam react to such a twist?

As much as Sam may not want to hear it, especially now that she and Lucky seem to be getting closer again, Liz will always share a special bond with Lucky.  "Elizabeth has this protectiveness over Lucky out of habit" admits his portrayer, Greg Vaughan.  "When you've been with someone for so long, it's something you do by nature."

Although this week Jason gets yet another glimpse into the life that could have been, he's also forced to face the fact that he gave up any chance of a happily ever after with Liz when he opted to take over Sonny's empire.  "He still has feelings for Elizabeth and their son, Jake" says Burton, of the situation.  "But there really is no choice.  It's like Romeo and Juliet.  We can't be together.  Only it's not because we're from different families but because she leads a normal life and I don't.  That's what is cool about the story.  There will always be that obstacle between them, no matter how badly they want to be together."

Which leaves the door wide open for Lucky, who is, let's not forget, Elizabeth's first love.  Given how much the pair, whose names were once as inexorably linked as those of supercouple Luke and Laura, have shared over the years.  It would be almost natural for them to find their way back together.  But could Jason really sit back and watch Liz find happiness in the arms of another man?  "At this point", conclues Burton, "Jason is doing what he has to do.  It's sad but true."
