Opportunity Knocks:

Steve announced that he was taking on a new challenge by stepping behind the camera to direct the action on Night Shift. 'I'll be directing anywhere from two to four scenes every episode until the end of the Shift run," says a thrilled Burton, who, unfortunately won't be getting screen credit for the material he is helming.  "Everybody has been very supportive. That first episode wasn't weird for anybody, except for me.  I was sweating like crazy.  It's nerve racking to be in charge and sitting in the booth with all the producers.  I have the greatest respect for directors who direct soaps.  It's the hardest job in the world.  It truly is.  People don't understand how tough it is, but it is tough."

Between acting and directing gigs, Burton is also prepping for appearances on Wednesday, September 12 at Zanies Comedy Club in Nashville, September 15 ant Brokerage Entertainment Club in Bellmore, NY and his first event with Rebecca Herbst at the First Annual Liason Fan event on Saturday, October 20 at Zanies Comedy Club in Vernon Hills IL.  "It's not a comedy show -- it's a Q&A about my hair," he quips.  "We go out there, have a few laughs.  It's fun to talk with fans.  You always get the truth from the fans.  They're always been very gracious, very giving, supportive and loyal.

The Liason fans have been hanging around, hoping for Jason and Liz to get together.  They've never quit.  Hopefully, we'll make this an annual thing.  We'll have a good time."
