time, GH's Steve Burton had yet to officially re-sign with the show, but
he tells Digest that fans shouldn't be too worried. "Let's just say
that everything is looking good for me to stay, for at least another year
or two". The actor notes that there are several factors that have influenced his decision to stick around once the ink dries on the new deal. "There's some good stuff coming up" he states. I talked to Bob Guza, the head writer and I'm excited to have a good story. I'm looking forward to it. It looks like they are going to try and get Jason and Sam back to what they were. They've been gearing toward this for awhile now. Kelly was in Vegas doing her thing. She's back now. She's got time left on her contract. It's looking like I'm going to be staying there for at least another year. As far as Jason and Sam goes, it's a new beginning. Burton adds that he has a very strong loyalty to General Hospital. "It really is an awesome place to work" he enthuses. I couldn't work in a better place. I am very blessed to work with Jill (Farren-Phelps - Executive Producer) and Bob and all of the great actors on the show. And then there's the crew. They're really like my family. I've been there almost 18 years. I grew up with these people. They're the unsung heroes." Though he declined to discuss specifics, the subject of pay cuts did come up. "It's something we have to do" he notes. It's a reality. It's not a choice. Everybody's taking pay cuts. I don't care where you are. People on other shows have. We have. It's a reality we all have to face and I think it's good because in a sense, it has banded people together. Nobody escapes the pay cut. What choice is there? Hold out and be like 'I m not taking a pay cut when all the crew guys are and the other actors are'? I'm happy to be there. I'm going to contribute like everyone else and we're going to keep this show on the air. That's where it becomes a real team effort. It's all good man". |
