What Others Say About Steve

Sebastian Roche twittered on 7/14/09 "Back to Port Charles tomorrow- Big action day with Steve "Burtsypoo!" :)

Nancy Lee Grahn responding to questions on her site. Question: "Do you enjoy your scenes with Steve?". Nancy responded with "Luv my Stevie as long as we don't talk politics. He is seriously right handed and I am seriously left handed."

Lisa Lociero (Olivia) - Asked if she and Steve got along and would she like some Olivia / Jason scenes, she responded with "Goodness yes! Steve scared me at first but now we really crack each other up.  I am happy to say we have a scene coming up very soon but I havn't read it yet. Can't wait. He is a lot of fun."

Kirsten Storms (Maxie): "Never in a million years did I think I would be working with Steve Burton.  I was star struck when I met him.  You have to earn your position to be able to work with great people every day."

"Steve Burton is a great guy.  One of my first days, he came up to me and gave a bit of a pep talk.  He saw me looking a little beat down I think, and he remembers what is was like being the new guy and all the stress and suck that goes along with it. So, he's this super nice guy in the hallway, then we do a scene together and he looks like he's going to rip my head off." - Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) SID

"He's always positive. Nothing gets him frustrated. He can deal with different groups of people. He loves it!" (Bradford Anderson, SID)

"I adore Steve Burton. My god! He should do stand-up," raves Sebastian Roche (Jerry Jax). "Steve's like 'It would never work if I went onstage. It just works in the confines of the studio.' But he truly has the best sense of humor."

"I love working with Steve Burton  He's incredibly talented and he's just a fun guy to be around. He's got such a level of ease in his work that I learn from him every day. So it's wonderful to be there in the thick of the coffee importing business" -  Graham Shiels (Cody)

Peter Bergman, (Jack on Young and Restless) "I watch someone like Steve Burton and, I'm telling you, he does more work without dialogue than any actor in Daytime television. That man with his eyes can say paragraphs. It's very impressive."

When asked by Soaps in Depth, "Who on your cast should be president and why?", both Laura Wright (Carly) and Bradford Anderson (Spinelli) answered Steve Burton.

Laura said, "I'd have to say Steve Burton. He's got an understanding of people. He talks with you and not at you. Steve fixes the problem and gets everyone to talk. He'll call everyone out on the real issue and he gets to the matter at hand. He's very diplomatic."

Bradford responded, "Steve Burton would be a great president, just because his moral code is infallible. When he talks with you, you feel like he's hearing you. He's got the kind of presence that you respect. You feel like you're in good hands, because he's a very powerful but compassionate person."

"Steve calls me 'Rusty' all the time - Rusty the Rookie." (Kimberly McCullough, Robin, on her return to GH)

Rebecca Herbst recently told Soaps In Depth magazine, "I just like being at work knowing that Steve Burton is there. I know I can always go to him if I have problems with my character or if I'm just having a bad day. He's always there. Personally, we've grown up together."

Bradford Anderson has also been quoted as saying Steve is the "go to guy".  "He is very gracious and willing to help and he generally does have all of the answers."

"My favorite thing about Steve would be that he's always willing to listen." - Maurice Benard (Sonny)

Scott Clifton (Ex -Dillon) was asked in a recent issue of SOW who had the messiest dressing room at GH. He answered Steve Burton. "He's got like dead people in there and cabbage on the floor."

Scott again comments on Steve and his dressing room: "Steve really didn't care that I changed dressing rooms. He's so technical. He was, 'What are the benefits? What are the downfalls?' , 'There's
a window, and you get cell phone reception? All right. I'm okay with that.'"

I like him and I think he's cute, but I think he's an amazing actor. I watched him in The Last Castle with Robert Redford; I thought he was awesome in that, too. There are certain people you watch on the show and you think they're really good. I still watch Deidre Hall, (DAYS) and think, 'Wow, how does she do it? It's effortless.' That's kind of how I feel about Steve. He's the person on the show I really watch and think, 'It's natural, it's normal.' I don't just think he's hot." - Kristen Storms (Maxie)

"The most beautiful thing about Steve, is he doesn't know he is. He blushes when I tell him he's cute."-Kimberly McCullough (Robin)

"No one on this show is a bigger fan of Steve Burton's. From the first day he came on, I used to tell the producers, the writers, and everybody else `You're missing the boat with this kid. I know a fine actor when I see one, I know a serious actor when I see one, I know a prepared actor when I see one. This kid has it all, and the looks.` I think the sky's the limit for him, and I have never said that about anyone else in the 18 years I've been on General Hospital. This kid had talent from day one, and humility, and no attitude. It couldn't happen to a more deserving young man, because he will treasure it and look after it."-Stuart Damon (Alan)

"Steve & I have been "buds" for 12 years. I've known him since he was doing "Out of This World"-since he was a kid. Now he's this young man who's grown so much as a person, and I'm amazed how much he's grown as an actor."-Billy Warlock (ex-AJ)

"He is phenomenal."-Senait Ashenafi (ex-Keesha)

"He's incredible. I'm proud of him and the work that he's doing. I knew he had it in him when I first saw him. This (Steve's performance) doesn't surprise me."-Maurice Benard (Sonny)

"It's been amazing to see Steve grow as an actor. It's been nice working with someone so truthful and deep. He isn't afraid to take chances."-Maurice Benard (Sonny)

"I've always thought Steve was the most underrated actor around here. I'm glad he's finally been given work that is worthy of his talent."-Tony Geary (Luke)

"I dream of taking moonlit strolls with Steve Burton. But who doesn't do that?"-Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily)

"I'll tell you an inside story. Steve had been on the show for 2 months. All of the attention was going to Gerald Hopkins, then Sean Kanan as A.J. I went to the head writer, to the producer, and to the heads of ABC in New York. I told them Steve Burton is a star. You are missing the boat. This kid is not only an incredible actor, but he has the discipline to blow you off the map if you let him. I rest my case - look at him now! He is so credible and so focused."-Stuart Damon (Alan)

"I love working with Steve."-Kimberly McCullough (Robin)

"He's the next Tom Cruise - only better. The amount of charisma that Tom Cruise has is enormous. But acting wise, Steve was born with more."-Maurice Benard (Sonny)

"He's the best looking GOOD actor I've ever seen." -Brad Maule (ex-Tony)

Stuart Damon  was asked  "Which of your co-stars would you like to team up with on THE AMAZING RACE?" His answer? "I couldn't do it. But, if you mean me at my best, I'd take Steve Burton. He's a great athlete, he's very strong and he's a really, really focused guy."

Maurice Benard on Steve: "He's a guy who is so absolutely real. He's deep but he's got a funny side that doesn't come out in his character."  With just a passing glance, one can crack the other up and then they're both goners. "We laugh like little kids both on screen and off."

When asked "Who on your cast would do the best on THE APPRENTICE and why?" Rick Hearst said: " I think because he's such a consummate businessman, it would be Steve Burton. Steve has that unique quality of salivating when it has to do with dollars and cents.

When Laura Wright recently shot Carly's flashback of a romantic encounter she had with Jason way back when,  she was surprised by her own reaction "Ooh! I got to kiss Steve Burton" she giggled. "I think my knees almost gave out after I kissed him. After the scene, I went to walk away, and I was, "I hope I don't fall over and embarrass myself!".

Alicia Leigh Willis - "I really learned a lot from working with Steve. It was such a beautiful love story and I loved playing that. He is really passionate about what he does and it comes  through in his work."

Jackie Zeman: "He's so talented. He's always present in every scene, even if it's not about him. Steve is one of the best listeners as an actor I've ever seen. He listens and watches what you are doing and reacts to it, which in my book, is the definition of a truly talented and secure actor."

"I love Steve Burton. I love that character (Jason). Steve is one of the most amazing young actors I've ever seen."-Bob Guza (GH's head writer)

"Steve Burton, I adore. He's got the overall picture. He's wise beyond his years. He's not overwhelmed, and he's not in awe. He's a gentleman. And a hunk."-Leslie Charleson

Megan Ward (Kate) during her online chat said "Steve really knows how to do his job and he is the only actor I see that comes to set without his script.  He knows his lines and knows what he wants out of a scene.  He is kind of like a team leader for the actors. Like today,  he had an "IN and Out" truck come to the studio with hamburgers for the cast and crew."
